Obituary for Rebecca S. "Becky" Campbell

Rebecca S. "Becky" Campbell
Rebecca “Becky” S. Campbell, 63, of Cheyenne passed away December 18, 2017 at Davis Hospice Center.

She was born February 8, 1954 in Berkeley, CA to Sam and Maye Minnich. She grew up mainly in the South, graduating from high school in Marceline, Missouri in 1972. She moved to Rawlins in 1975 and over the years operated a fabric store, worked in day care, and was a licensed real estate agent, all in addition to raising four wonderful children. She returned to school after raising her children and obtained a Master’s Degree which enabled her to work as a Mental Health Counselor. She loved working with kids of all ages and had that opportunity during her many years with Laramie County School District One. She was a member of the United Methodist Church. She married Thomas Campbell on February 1, 1997 in Rawlins and they moved to Cheyenne in 2001.

Her children and grandchildren were the love of her life and she never seemed to hit any limits in sharing her time, her love, and her enthusiasm for life with them. And she always had some left to give to the next person she ran across who needed a little support.

Her smile and love of all people endeared her not only to her family and friends, but everyone who had the occasion to meet her. Anyone around her for more than 15 minutes learned she was beautiful inside and out.

She is survived by her husband, Thomas Campbell of Cheyenne; children, Jennifer (Jim) Piggott of Longmont, CO, Josh (Amanda) Dorrell of Laramie, Dan (Tanya) Dorrell of Riverton, WY, Heather (Ely) Luckett of Rock Springs, WY; step-children, Heather (Steph) Albright of Seattle, WA, Tara Suzik of Tacoma, WA, Jenny (Matt) Shatzkin of Mechanicsburg, PA, and Thomas C. Campbell of Raleigh, NC; 20 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. She leaves them all behind with broken hearts, but grateful for having had her in their lives.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Memorial Services will be Thursday December 21, 2017 at 11 o’clock a.m. in the Lakeview Chapel at Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home. Services and cremation are under the care of Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home and condolences may be offered to the family at www.schradercares.com. Anyone wishing to may donate to CASA of Laramie County.
