Obituary for Edward Kranz

Edward  Kranz
Edward A. “Ed” Kranz, 62, of Carpenter, Wyoming, passed away December 19, 2017 after losing a battle with cancer.

Ed was born February 13, 1955, in Cheyenne, Wyoming, a son of Walter G. and Norma J. (Harms) Kranz.

Ed began his working career for Halladay Motors and later for the Pine Bluffs John Deere dealership. He transitioned to working for Bill Gross’ ranch and Pete Anderson’s ranch until establishing his own repair business. He owned his business for 14 years and then returned to farming and working for a fertilizer company. Ed also owned his own truck and he drove truck in addition to farming until poor health resulted in his retirement.

Ed’s many interests included woodworking and making barn wood picture frames. He also enjoyed antique tractor pulling and serving with his church family at Trinity Lutheran Church. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.

Ed is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Julie C. (Gossett) Kranz; three children, Lavern Kranz of Carpenter, Veronica Jacob and husband, James, of Buffalo, WY, and Rodney Kranz and wife, Krissy, of Carpenter; six siblings, Barbara Ittig and husband, Tom, of Hemet, CA, Leona Kranz of Elwood, NE, Albert Kranz and wife, Michelle, of Pine Bluffs, WY, Ivan Kranz and wife, Kim, of Carpenter, Jane Pihl and husband, Ivar, of Powell Butte, OR, and Don Kranz and wife, Lynne, of Carpenter; three grandchildren, Scarlet Jacob of Buffalo, WY, Haley Jacob of Buffalo, WY, and Casie Kranz of Aurora, CO; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.

He is preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Jack R. Kranz.

Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00p.m. Thursday, December 21, 2017 at the Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 22, 2017 at Trinity Lutheran Church with an interment service to follow at the Burns Lutheran Cemetery.
